Description of Holly Tree HouseIn summary, Holly Tree is a charming 200 year old cottage with self catering accommodation for up to 4 people. Situated 5 minutes from Cheddar, this self catering accommodation comprises of a cosy lounge, dining room, kitchen, first floor bathroom with a large bath and overhead shower, a large and light double bedrooom, a twin room and a further double, which was formerly the hayloft. There is central heating, double glazing and a woodburner for stays outwith the summer months. Free wifi so you can keep in touch with home. Linen and towels included. There is a cottage garden on different levels, and off street parking close by accessed either via the garden or the road for two cars. The property is unsuitable for children under 7 or those with mobility difficulties due to the pond, different levels in the garden, and steps in the cottage. Ideally situated for exploring the West Country and the Somerset levels. 5 minutes drive from the famous Cheddar Gorge, and 15 minutes from the historic city of Wells. A wealth of outdoor activities on the door step, including the West Mendip Way, numerous walking paths, cycling, glidin, caving, golf and clay pigeon shooting. Wookey Hole is also within a 15 minute drive and the Ebbor Gorge Nature reserve. Changeover day is Saturday, and arrival is from 4pm. You will be requested to leave by 10am at the end of your stay and to leave the cottage tidy. A welcome hamper is provided to help you get settled for your West Country holiday. Local InformationThere is a local village shop and Post Office in Draycott. Cheddar is a five minute drive and has food shopping, banks, cashpoint facilities and other local amenities such as restuarants and pubs. A medical centre is also situated in Cheddar.Under a mile away is the locally renown Rodney Stoke Inn with a great atmosphere and food. Within walkig distance of the cottage is also the Strawberry Special, a local pub. Wells ia a fifteen minute drive and has more shopping, restaurants and tourist attractions. For shopping, Bristol is 35 minutes drive, and Bath can be reached in about an hour. The Mendips are great for people wanting an outdoor holiday, or to visit some of the numerous tourist attractions in the area. Accesible by car for a day trip are also The Cotswolds and Devon. Accessibility DetailsThe property is not suitable for wheelchair users, or people with limited mobility due to the number of steps in the cottage and the garden. It is also not suitable for children under 7 years of age due to the small pond and varying levels in the property.NotesWe are more than happy to consider short breaks.
