Cannes is a glamourous resort city on the French Riviera known for its film festival, stunning coastline, and vibrant nightlife. It’s one of the most famous destinations in the South of France, attracting celebrities, jet-setters and travelers like my family and friends seeking a mix of relaxation and excitement.

The destination provides thoughtful contemplation, as it rests overlooking the bright bluish waves of the Mediterranean Sea reflecting the enduring Hispano-Moorish ambience in a picture-perfect postcard setting.

For almost a century, the iconic Casino Royal Palm has embodied timeless elegance. In the roaring 20’s era, Eugène Cornuché – visionary promoter and founder of the Deauville casino – suggested to Mayor André Capron the idea of building Europe’s first summer casino in Cannes. It would be named “Palm Beach Casino,” in reference to the wealthy Florida beach town.

In 1939, the resort campaigned to host the Venice Film Festival. But on September 1, the festival’s opening day, the organizers cancelled the event after German troops had just invaded Poland. Europe was in total chaos, and the Palm Beach Casino shut down and after decades of decadence, time stood completely still for the property.

Rooted in the glamour of the Belle Époque and celebrating Cannes’ enduring passion for gaming, especially for high rollers, the once glitzy, elegant resort was reborn through a partnership between Partouche Casino and the Palm Beach Group. Reimagined by the architectural duo Caprini & Pellerin, the revival ushers in an exciting new chapter for the iconic venue.

The resort now celebrates the passion for gaming in a theatrical setting. A blend of softness and sharp lines, smooth surfaces and raw textures creates an immersive experience.

The Art Deco style has been reinterpreted with a contemporary vision inspired by fashion and cinema, creating a unique environment. The project honors Jean-Michel Frank and draws on American Bauhaus for its simplicity and monumentality, while touches of Dadaism and Surrealism challenge conventions and add an audacious flair.

The casino features a spacious main hall, two intimate areas, and an entertainment zone that includes a bar and a stage. The exclusive spaces, enhanced with fake balconies and elegant curtains, creates a cozy and welcoming ambiance.

The interior is adorned with a palette of peach shades, inspired by the building’s historical archives and reflecting the original color of its façade. Textile patterns, influenced by the world of fashion, are paired with pastel and peach tones, flowing seamlessly onto a geometric carpet design.
