I don’t know about you, but I find it interesting discovering what celebrities live or vacation in my favorite destinations around the world. I’ve spotted celebs during my visits to Cabo San Lucas, Tuscany, Italy, the Dominican Republic, the Virgin Islands and more. Though they may be paying much more for their property or accommodations, it’s nice to know that “regular” travelers have access to these stunning destinations.
Experts at online casino Bacanaplay researched the top travel spots approved by celebrities to find the most affordable of those destinations. The lowest possible costs for a 7-day trip for two, covering flights, accommodations, and two to three daily meals were calculated by considering average prices and then ranked by affordability. Prices are in United States dollars.
Copacabana
This famous melting pot of cultural influences in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil is known for its bohemian vibe and nightclub scene. It tops the list as the most affordable destination offering a week at just $595 for two.
Inexpensive food and accommodations, domestic flights, and transportation affected its ranking regardless of seasonality. Famous people like Tom Cruise, Miley Cyrus, and even Princess Diana have been spotted here.
Hvar, Croatia
An island located in the Adriatic Sea, Hvar is renowned for its stunning natural beauty, historical sites, lavender fields, olive groves, vineyards and vibrant nightlife. Hvar takes the 2nd spot as the most affordable luxury destination, allowing a 7-day experience in the Adriatic for just $700 for two.
This is Jay Z and Beyoncé’s favorite destination, with their daughter even being granted honorary citizenship.
Dominican Republic
One of my favorite destinations, the DR (as the locals call it) is possible to enjoy for only $738 for a party of two, with most of that cost going towards accommodation. This is a location where celebrities like The Kardashians and Jake Gyllenhaal have vacationed.
Cabo San Lucas
A place my family and I visit often, where the desert meets the turquoise sea in Baja, California, Mexico, Cabo San Lucas is priced at just $756 for a 7-day trip for two. Accommodations here are relatively expensive, but transportation and food prices balance the average price to make the beaches visited by Jennifer Aniston and George Clooney affordable.
Azores, Portugal
The Azores are an archipelago of nine major islands located in the mid-Atlantic belonging to Portugal. The Azores are characterized by volcanic craters, hot springs and dramatic coastlines.
Priced at just $900 for a 7-day trip for two, the islands serve as a secret hideaway for celebrities like Cristiano Ronaldo and George Galloway.
Mallorca, Spain
Though this island situated in the Mediterranean Sea is currently seeing protests against mass tourism and calling for limits, there are better times of year to visit than the high season. Mallorca secures the 6th spot on the list where a 7-day trip to Michelle Obama’s and Richard Branson’s favorite beaches can be available for only $919 for two.
Celebrities such as Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones have even resided here during their time away from filming.
Tuscany, Italy
Located in central Italy, Tuscany is characterized by rolling hills, olive groves, vineyards and its famous tall cypress trees. A week-long stay for two can be booked at $986.
Although accommodations here are pricey, the variety of inexpensive street food spots and trattorias help lower the average cost of the trip. This countryside is a vacation spot for celebrities like Leonardo DiCaprio and Harry Styles, and a location where Richard Gere and Sting own properties.
Saint Tropez
This picturesque town on the French Riviera can be enjoyed for $987 for a 7-day trip for two. Although there are no hostels in Saint Tropez, affordable rooms can still be found on these Mediterranean beaches, where the Beckhams, Elton John, and Kate Moss have been spotted.
Capri, Italy
The captivating island of Capri claims the costs $1,005 for a 7-day trip for two. This price is significantly influenced by the season, as costs are lower during the off-peak season from October to April. You’ll encounter fewer crowds as well.
Couples like Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott, as well as Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck have been seen here. This is one of my favorite Italian destinations.
Fiji
Rounding out the top 10 of the most affordable luxury destinations at a cost of $1,027 for a 7-day trip for two, Bali is surprisingly affordable with two available hostels on the island. This tropical South Pacific paradise featuring diverse landscapes that include sandy beaches, coral reefs, tropical rainforests and rugged mountains has been frequented by Bill Gates and Oprah Winfrey.
