Luxury boutique hotel Monteverdi Tuscany has announced its upcoming Chef in Residence program, taking place from September 24th to 29th 2024, in partnership with award-winning chefs Missy Robbins and Nancy Silverton. Guests are invited to embark upon a rare and intimate opportunity to experience the beauty and flavors of Tuscany alongside some of the world’s best chefs.

The immersive five-night program with 30 total reservation spots will feature chef-led dinners, intimate cooking demos, private epicurean excursions, and more.

Following last year’s program hosted in partnership with chefs Dominique Crenn and Nancy Silverton, the residence returns inviting guests to experience a one-of-a-kind intimate culinary adventure with globally renowned chefs to celebrate the flavors of Tuscany in the idyllic rolling hills of the Val D’Orcia.

At Monteverdi, we have always believed in fostering a space where creativity flourishes. I am thrilled to host this year’s Chef in Residence program with talented chefs, Missy Robbins and Nancy Silverton,” Monteverdi’s Culinary Director Giancarla Bodoni said. “This is a week where guests and chefs alike will be immersed in Tuscan food culture. Our guests will experience the conviviality that is born through sharing stories and creating memorable moments. The Val d’Orcia inspires chefs to create beautiful food, and offers guests a unique sensorial experience that is truly unforgettable.”

Chef Missy Robbins is bringing her innovative approach to Italian cuisine to the residency. A James Beard Award winner for “Best Chef New York City,” Robbins is the owner of Brooklyn restaurants Lilia and Misi and the co-founder of the pasta and specialty foods brand MISIPASTA. Chef Nancy Silverton, James Beard Award winner and co-owner of the Michelin-starred Osteria Mozza, Pizzeria Mozza, and other top Los Angeles restaurants, calls Tuscany her home and returns to Monteverdi after co-hosting the previous residence in 2023.

“I have long admired Nancy and the opportunity to get to spend time in Italy with her is beyond special,” Chef Missy Robbins said. “Giancarla and I have been trying to do something together for a few years now and to see it finally come to fruition is amazing. I am excited to visit producers, cook, and just be in a place that is so close to my heart.”

Robbins and Silverton have collaborated with Monteverdi to curate an unforgettable five-night itinerary filled with immersive and educational experiences for guests to indulge in the beauty of Tuscany’s Val d’Orcia region. The residency will open with a cocktail hour at the Lounge Bar, followed by a multi-course dinner prepared by Monteverdi’s culinary team and the resident hosts Chef Bodoni, Robbins, and Silverton.

Guests will accompany the chefs on private tours and excursions, from white truffle foraging, to learning the art of cheesemaking at the family-owned sheep’s milk farm Caseificio Pìu, to visiting Mulino Val D’Orcia, a family-owned grain mill for an olive oil tasting and lunch. Concerts, Tuscan BBQs, wine tastings, chef-led cooking demonstrations, and family-style meals are scheduled throughout the program, with time for guests to unwind, relax, and enjoy the stunning views from the hilltop property.

“Monteverdi is a magical place that I’ve grown incredibly fond of,” Chef Silverton said. “I am thrilled to be able to share it with my dear friend Missy Robbins. With the wonderful Chef Giancarla Bodoni leading the charge again this year, we will surely have another outstanding Chef in Residence program full of unique experiences and really, really excellent food.”
